A Veterans Day filled with memories, appreciation, and fellowship

The Rotary Club of San Mateo convened at Cuvée Winery on November 11th to honor our nation's veterans and those in our club who served in the armed forces.  Martin Harband and Tom Huening shared their experiences in Viet Nam - Martin at a hospital unit in Pleiku and Tom as a jet pilot. Paul Rogerville graciously hosted the event, taking great care to provide a striking red, white, and blue decor and an informative memorabilia table. Thanks to President Rod for organizing a most memorable event. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the conviviality of the day!
Martin Harband shared his experience in a medical unit at Pleiku supervising 200 enlisted men. He even brought along a Thanksgiving menu from the Mess Hall. They did indeed have turkey!
Tom Thompson and Dick DeLuna thank Tom Huening for his riveting remarks on his time as a jet pilot in the Air Force during the Viet Nam War and how a random chat in a bar changed his whole outlook on the war.
Cuvée Winemaker

President Rod took the mike to thank all those who have served and gave kudos to Paul for hosting!
Chuck Osborn enjoys the moment...and his favorite beverage!
Tom Huening definitely looked the part in his bomber jacket - complete with a cameo by Snoopy and a peace symbol.
Paul Rogerville shared items from his grandpa's service in WWI and his father's during WWII, complete with medals and a matchbox ambulance
A good time was had by all! Thanks again to Paul for investing the time and energy to make the day such a rousing success!
