Mega Congratulations to this year's San Mateo Rotary Scholarship winners. Poplar Creek was full to the brim last Thursday with excited students, families, school staff, and Rotarians at the annual Scholarship Luncheon. Judging by the excited smiles, the scholarship recipients enjoyed celebrating their accomplishments!
Following a delicious lunch where Rotarians hosted this year's honorees, the scholarships were awarded and gratefully accepted. Several students gave inspiring remarks about their life journeys and future plans, validating the importance of the assistance Rotary Scholarships provide.
Many thanks to Sheila Canzian, Jeff Lowenstein, and Margaret Taylor for the many hours they've devoted to the entire scholarship selection process. Thanks also to the Rotarians who served on the Interview Committee and who presented their students to the Committee. A most successful year for scholarships!

For the first time in a long while, Rotary took over the entire Poplar Creek Dining Room! Great to see so many Rotarians in attendance. Be sure to come back this Tuesday for our regular Rotary meeting!

Emcee Extraordinaire Sheila presents Lorena Michelle Flores Vidal with a Rotary scholarship. Lorena gave an inspirational speech at the luncheon and will be heading off to UC Davis this fall, majoring in Economics, with a post-graduation job already lined up at Deloitte!
