Ro Bianchi

UC Berkeley Alum, devoted Cal Bears' fan & long-time San Mateo Rotarian Ro Bianchi passed away on January 29th.  Ro joined the Club on
July 1, 1987. Fellow Rotarians eagerly looked forward to Ro's newscasts where he kept everyone spellbound as he humorously recounted his adventures growing up in San Francisco, at Cal, and throughout an illustrious career at Bank of America.   Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 12, at St. Bartholomew's, 600 Columbia Drive, in San Mateo with a Rosary at 10:30 am.  We will all miss Ro's broad smile, fascinating stories, and engaging sense of humor. Hats off to Ro & here's to "all the ships at sea!"

Scott smith has his red badge

Tony Villanueva introduced Dr. Scott Smith and presented Scott with his red badge at a recent club meeting. Scott decided he wanted to become a Rotarian and so set about finding a match for his interests, visiting five different clubs.  Happily, the Rotary Club of San Mateo was the perfect match! Scott is an Infectious Disease Consultant, rides a unicycle, and is a beekeeper.  As you see him at meetings, be sure to introduce yourself and extend a warm welcome.
