President Joan distributed copies of the new 2024-25 San Mateo Rotary Directory at the January 23rd meeting. It looks great and has lots of changes so you need your very own copy!
If you missed the meeting, President Joan will continue to have directories available at upcoming meetings. If you're unable to attend our Thursday meetings, please let President Joan know & she'll make arrangements to get one to you.

Recently appointed Santa Clara University Athletic Director Heather Owen provided San Mateo Rotarians with insights into the difficult challenges currently facing college athletics.
Following her prepared remarks, she engaged in a lively & provocative discussion with the group, many of whom had great questions to which she responded with thought-provoking answers.

Our school gardening partnership with College Park Elementary School is ready to rev up again now that spring is just around the corner.
It's a great way to help teachers and students with gardening projects which are developed by the teachers and then supervised by Rotarians as the students enjoy being outdoors. Activities include weeding, planting, and garden art. No experience necessary, just a hat, gloves, sunscreen & a smile!
Gardening will occur monthly on:

March 19 May 21
11:30 am - 12:30 pm
You can come one, two, three, or all four times! Such a deal!

MEET ELIJAH!
Peter Webb's Newscast for January 23rd focused on the newest member of our Rotary Family - Elijah Saunders. Proud parents Angel & Osh recently shared this adorable photo of Elijah at the ripe old age of eight weeks.
His first few weeks were difficult because he needed some abdominal surgery so he had to spend time in the Infant ICU. Pleased to report all went well, and Elijah is growing by leaps & bounds.
Rumor has it that Elijah has now had his vaccinations so can make public appearances. We're hoping he'll grace us with his presence at an upcoming Rotary meeting!
