Bet you didn't know among President Joan's many attributes, her crisis management skills are top-notch. Notified at 5 pm on a Friday evening of a Par 3 kitchen plumbing problem that has closed the facility indefinitely, President Joan sprang into action to locate a new venue. Thanks to Rotarians who answered President Joan's call for suggestions, the Crystal Springs Golf Course rose to the top and by end-of-day on Saturday, President Joan had reserved a spot for the October 15th and 22nd meetings.
Whew!
Kudos to President Joan and her intrepid team of Nancy Stanton & Ross Moilan for locating an alternate venue so quickly and to everyone for your patience & assistance.
Stay tuned for the next chapter in the ongoing saga of where in the world is san mateo rotary?
Balloons? Gifts? Cake?
When was the last time San Mateo Rotarians hosted a baby shower?
Congrats
to Angel & Osh as they prepare
for the arrival
of Baby Saunders who is expected in early November.
At the October
15th meeting everyone
cheerfully pitched in to "shower" the parents-to-be with gifts for their new arrival.
Hope they bring him to a Rotary meeting once he's ready to make his public debut! We can't wait to meet him!
With the US Supreme Court's 24-25 term underway, Barbara Creed made her annual visit to San Mateo Rotary to give us an overview of what to expect in the year ahead.
If you missed Barbara's remarks, you can find them on our Rotary YouTube channel.
Did you know San Mateo Rotary has a Book Club that meets monthly?
The November book will be James by Percival Everett.
Remember Huck Finn? James tells the Huck Finn story, but through the eyes of Jim.
Should be an intriguing read!
The Book Club will meet on November 13th. For more details, contact Peter Webb.
