If visitors had walked into Poplar Creek last Thursday, they would have witnessed quite a sight! Imagine a room full of San Mateo Rotarians each trying to stand on one leg for 20 seconds and then the other leg for 20 seconds! Our speaker, Dr. Carlos Sanders, began his presentation with this challenging interactive activity. Some of us actually managed to conquer the challenge!
Dr. Sanders went on to share the importance of balance in preventing or reacting to falls, provided tips, and handed out a set of exercises for improving balance. Dr. Sanders also posed a fascinating question for each Rotarian to ponder:
Did I stop climbing trees because I got older? Or, did I get older because I stopped climbing trees?
How would you answer his question?

President John continues actively recruiting for his President's Club & managed to snag both Don & Martin at last Tuesday's meeting. Don had just returned from Maui after a harrowing visit. He'd been staying close to Lahaina and described the shock of seeing the devastation wrought by the wild fire and how so many people lost everything.
Martin had also been away & when asked where, replied, "Went there. Had a good time. Came back." Both agreed to join the President's Club, although Martin added the caveat, "This time & this day only!"
