On a recent gorgeous September afternoon, Rotarians and the community came together to dedicate Kristin's Bench at Beresford Park. Thanks to Cheryl Angeles for the heartfelt tribute to Kristin, to Sheila Canzian for ensuring the bench found a home at Beresford, and to Dave Skromme for hosting the reception that followed. Kristin's son, Bryce, gave a moving remembrance of Kristin, as his twins listened carefully.
Our Club's Community Giving Committee has unanimously allocated $60,000 to pursue mental health initiatives in Kristin's memory. The Committee is working with leaders of local mental health nonprofits to advise us on the best ways to support community efforts to address depression and anxiety.

Past President Bruce and the Fun Run Committee are hard at work planning the October 24th Fun Run to raise funds for scholarships. For the past 12 years, the Fun Run has been an annual event focused on community health, scholarship fund raising, and Halloween fun! This year's event will be at Seal Park on the paved Bayfront Trail as a fast and flat 5K loop.
We'll have prizes for the winning 5K and 10K man and woman along with great goody bags and a long sleeve cotton T-shirt for all. There will be a short kids' race. We’ll award prizes for the best Halloween runners' costumes and finish with a free raffle.

The 7th Annual Cooking for a Cause Paella Demonstration and Benefit Dinner - Friday, October 22 from 6 - 9 p.m. Outdoors at the Half Moon Bay Library. A benefit to support the Sonrisas Clinical Dental Team.
The Jim McGovern Memorial Golf Tournament - Saturday, October 16th. Jim was a devoted Belmont Rotarian and often attended our San Mateo meetings. The Tournament will be held at Deep Cliff Golf Course and is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of San Carlos, Belmont-Redwood Shores, and Peninsula Starlight. Details here:
